Not all Nappies are rubbish!
As part of Real Nappy Week 2012, Hackney Real Nappy Network are staging a take over of Fabrications! Drop in all day and find out about washable cloth nappies, see different models, try out putting them on and off and have all those questions answered.
In the Imaginerium (Fabrications new education centre) you can join in workshops to learn how to make your own eco-friendly, bespoke baby-wear and nappy accessories from up-cycled textiles.
10am-1pm - Make your own washable wet wipes & wet bags (£5 suggested donation)
With Hannah Lamdin from Love & Labour
This workshop will show you how to transform fabric waste into your own, individual washable wipes and a drawstring wet bag (for wet nappies while out and about). Bring along any no longer used/remnants of cotton fabric and worn towel or fleece. Some fabrics will be available to choose from. No previous sewing experience required.
Tea and cake provided!
Please note; young babies are most welcome and we want this event to be inclusive and open to all, however if you wish to participate in a workshop it is not suitable for babies on the move and there is not buggy space so please bring them in a sling/carrier.
