Shortly after 2.15pm on Friday 24 February 2012, police were called to Royce Road following reports of a collision.
Officers attended and found that a motorcycle had been in collision with a tree.
The rider of the motorbike, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A section of Royce Road has been closed up to Stretford Road to assist with police inquiries which are ongoing.
Witnesses to the collision are asked to call police on 101.
