Police bank thousands from Richmond cycling events

North Yorkshire police figures released today show the force gained the£2,269 for helping at Richmond Grand Prix and a further £989 for policing a British Super Bikes competition.
The figures are contained in a wider report by the York Press which shows that the force pocketed nearly £200,000 last year for hiring out officers to race meetings, football matches and even TV programmes.
